Ashley Austin of Fenton to Appear at New York Fashion Week

ELLE and the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) are pleased to announce that Ashley Austin of Fenton has been selected as a FASHION|NEXT finalist. FASHION|NEXT is ELLE's annual showcase of the best and brightest emerging designers from one of the top design schools in the country. With support from exclusive beauty sponsor Maybelline New York, FASHION|NEXT celebrates the fusion of art, fashion, beauty, and education in one extraordinary program.

Austin, a 2011 SCAD graduate, will present her debut collection during an ELLE-curated runway show at Lincoln Center on September 9, 2011, during New York Fashion Week. ELLE will feature Austin's work in its October and December issues, as well as on ELLE.com. In addition, a documentary-style webisode series will premiere at the FASHION|NEXT event and be prominently featured on ELLE.com, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the designers' journey from SCAD to Lincoln Center. The series will feature insider commentary from ELLE editors and the FASHION|NEXT judging panel.

Three prestigious awards will be given at FASHION|NEXT including the ELLE Design Award, determined by ELLE editors and an elite judging panel of industry professionals. The winner will be announced at the September 9th show and be awarded a grant of $25,000. Additionally, Maybelline New York will present one finalist with the Maybelline New York FASHION|NEXT Award – a grant of $25,000. Designers will also have the chance to win via popular vote with the ELLE People's Choice Award, a $10,000 grant selected by ELLE.com users. Voting goes live on September 9.
